Paramount Theater Reuse

The Paramount Theater is an abandoned theater in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The theater, along the main drag of the City, is slated to be demolished and replaced with a parking lot. While parking is not an ideal use for a downtown location, improvements and public space can make the use more attractive and pedestrian friendly. Working with Dominic Marchionda, Tom Hetrick, Phil Kidd, and various Youngstown groups, I designed an improvement plan which will remove a blighted theater and replace it with an attractive urban space.

When:  Spring, 2013

What did I do: I created various parking lot configurations and designs and rendered them into a final product. The Youngstown Design Review Commission adopted the plan in April, 2013.
