The Paramount Theater was an abandoned theater in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The theater, along the main drag of the City, was slated to be demolished and replaced with a parking lot. While parking is not an ideal use for a downtown location, improvements and public space could make the use more attractive and pedestrian friendly. Working with Youngstown leaders, I designed an improvement plan to remove the blighted theater and replace it with an attractive urban space.
What did I do: I created various parking lot configurations and designs and rendered them into a final product. The Youngstown Design Review Commission adopted the plan in April, 2013.
